Breaking News:the rover p6 has just voice out about the recent projects read more…….

I can’t remember which group it was on … but there was a discussion recently about having to actually tax your car .. even if it was exempt . There were a few misunderstandings and ambiguous answers …which were all made clear eventually . One thing I mentioned is that I’ve always been 100% convinced that contrary to some posts ,.. you do not have to register your car as historic for it to be tax exempt . People talk about going to the post office with V5’s etc .. it is totally unnecessary . The sheer fact your car is over forty years old is enough .This post is prompted by me finding a letter from 2019 from the Department of Transport which was sent to Mr Bob Owen , the director of Legislation Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs ,… that clearly states that any car over forty years old is of ‘ historic interest ‘ .
‘There is no requirement either intended or implied ,that at the point a vehicle becomes 40 years old and providing the vehicle has not been substantially changed , for the owner to make a declaration to any statutory body ,declaring that the vehicle is a vehicle of historic interest and is therefore no longer required to have a valid MOT certificate ‘
Hope this info helps .
