Hull City update regarding Eintracht Frankfurt attacker emerges

Hull City are ‘unlikely’ to sign Eintracht Frankfurt winger Faride Alidou this summer despite being a ‘tempting’ proposition to the player, according to German news outlet Bild.
Hull City are reportedly interested in a move for the attacker between now and the end of the transfer window. They have until the deadline next Friday to bring in some new faces as they aim to bolster their ranks.

Alidou, 23, spent last season on loan at Koln and scored four goals in 26 games in all competitions as they were relegated to Bundesliga. He has since returned to Frankfurt and his future is now up in the air, despite having two years left on his deal.

According to Bild, he wants to leave to pursue another opportunity elsewhere and although a move to England is something potentially of interest to him, he is also on the radar of some unnamed Italian Serie A sides.

Hull City-linked attacker update

Hull City are in need of some attacking reinforcements and Alidou could be seen as someone who would boost their options going forward.

The former Germany youth international worked with the Tigers’ boss Tim Walter at Hamburg.

He played youth football for Einigkeit Wilhelmsburg before moving to the Volksparkstadion as a youngster.

Alidou then rose up through the academy ranks of the German giants and was a regular for them at various different youth levels.

The Hamburg-born man initially played for their B team in the Regionalliga Nord before going on to play 27 matches for the Bundesliga.2 club’s first-team, chipping in two goals.

Frankfurt lured him to the top flight in 2022 and he has since featured on 21 occasions for their senior team.

He was loaned out to Koln last term to get some more game time and enjoyed regular minutes there despite their tough campaign.

Alidou was left out of Frankfurt’s squad for their most recent clash against Eintracht Braunschweig in the DFB-Pokal.

Hull City update

The fact Hull City play in the second tier has made this particular pursuit difficult.

It is hard to compete with European teams who play in the top flight in their countries.

Nevertheless, if he can’t fix up a move anywhere else then the Tigers could still be an option for him heading into next week.

Hull City are back in action this weekend at home to Millwall as they gear up for their third game of the season.
