Hull City- In the centre of ‘fake news’ gaffe – Player will not join the Tigers

We are officially at that point of the summer transfer window when things get weird.

AS Roma’s Joao Costa got some first-team minutes last season and scored in a friendly against Al-Shabab in the middle of the season.

Fast forward to this season, 3 Added Minutes wrote a piece about how Football Manager 2024 would predict Hull City’s summer transfer window business.

Football Manager transfers are random and the simulation game predicted that Roma’s Joao Costa would join Hull on a loan deal, without having any option or obligation to buy him permanently. The outlet mentioned that in the piece.

This ‘news’ was then picked up by outlets and they reported it as though the transfer was actually going through.

Roma outlet Voce Giallorossa have now looked at the oddity, branding it as ‘fake news’ and they are sensible enough to understand that the reports were simply picked up from Hull’s Football Manager predictor.

Their report also mentions that Hull will not sign the youngster and the 19-year-old has the faith of manager Daniele de Rossi.

He is currently not for sale.

Hull City are ‘likely’ to sign Hamburg midfielder Jonas Meffert with the player ‘keen’ to join, as detailed in a report by HullLive.

Hull City are keen to strike a deal to land the Bundesliga.2 ace between now and the end of the transfer window. They have drawn their first two games of the new Championship season 1-1 against Bristol City at home and Plymouth Argyle away ahead of their clash against Millwall at the MKM Stadium this weekend.
