Huge twist for Brisbane Broncos footy star who was investigated by police over domestic violence allegation

A Broncos NRL star under investigation for an alleged domestic violence incident has reportedly been cleared by Queensland police.

It follows a report one of the club’s players had been questioned after police responded to an alleged domestic disturbance on Brisbane’s south side on July 28.

The player – who has not been named – was not arrested or charged

Police said investigations were ongoing at the time and it is understood they have since informed the player they will not pursue the alleged matter, according to News Corp.

In late July, the Broncos notified the NRL about the allegation, but no player was sidelined under the code’s No Fault Stand Down policy as they weren’t charged.

At the time, the Broncos said they were ‘co-operating with police and the NRL’.

‘We were made aware of a matter involving one of our players, which the club has referred to the NRL Integrity Unit,’ a club statement read.

‘The health and wellbeing of all parties is paramount for our club, and support has been offered to those involved.
