Although the concept might draw interest in the summer, it’s more the product of wishful thinking than anything based in fact. It appears that the rumours were unfounded, and upon closer examination, it is evident that this trade proposal is nothing more than silly season filler. Saying a player is out of the game is one thing. Another is to find a team willing to take over the player’s contract. Reaves is in the second year of a $4.05 million, three-year contract that may be difficult to get out of. This is particularly true considering his age and the wear and tear associated with playing hockey in his particular manner.
