Leicester City- receive Wilfried Zaha transfer response

Leicester City are set to pay a seven-figure fee to bring in a former Premier League attacker on loan.

The Foxes are prioritising squad depth when it comes to wide areas this season, with Steve Cooper undoubtedly looking to rely on his wingers for his attacking threat this season.

Cooper tried to bring Matias Soule to Leicester City, however any deal to bring the Argentinian international was always going to be difficult with the winger wanting to stay in Serie A, which as a result saw him move to Roma.

However, Leicester City’s wide options are already full to the brim with Premier League quality, especially with the likes of Issahaku Fatawu, who performed incredibly well last season whilst on loan, before the Foxes signed him permanently this summer.

Leicester City are now looking to bring former Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha to the King Power Stadium as part of a loan deal, with it now being revealed how much Cooper’s side will have to shell out in order to attain the services of the Ivorian.

Leicester City set to pay over £7m in loan fees for Wilfried Zaha

In Leicester City’s ongoing pursuit of bringing Zaha to the King Power, it has been reported that they ‘will pay Galatasaray around 8.5 million Euros (£7m) in loan fees’, per Ertan Suzugun on X.

On a positive note, ‘Galatasaray will pay the player’s salary’, which undoubtedly makes the deal more beneficial for the Foxes.

The potential arrival of Zaha will see Leicester City’s wide options include Fatawu, new signing Bobby De Cordova-Reid, Stephy Mavididi, as well as the Ivorian, who has scored 68 Premier League goals in his career, all of which came for Crystal Palace.

Leicester City must follow suit in prioritising short-term deals

The deal to bring Zaha in for a sizeable loan fee is the pinnacle of a short-term deal that will help the Foxes consolidate their place in the Premier League.

These are the sort of deals that Cooper should be chasing ahead of the Premier League campaign, as Leicester City quite simply must put survival in the top tier front and foremost in their priorities.

A stepping stone 2024/25 campaign will be necessary for Leicester City to build on and return to being a consistent top-half side in the Premier League, which would be more difficult to achieve if they were bringing in youngsters who may come good in a year or two’s time.

There will be similar deals out there for proven Premier League talents for loans, and they are something that Leicester City must capitalise on, with it giving them the best chance of survival this season.
