NEWS: Kansas jayhawk management has announce the Commitment of Four-Star QB, the No.5 overall quarterback..

The newest player on the Kansas basketball team for 2024–25, David Coit, began to establish himself as a scorer during his junior year at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Illinois. The Columbus, New Jersey native, who identified as 5-foot-9 in an interview earlier this week, is listed as 5-foot-11 and 175 pounds on the NIU roster. He averaged 20.8 points, 3.4 assists, and 3.2 rebounds per game the previous season, good for third-team all-MAC honours for the Huskies (11–20). Coit, the 24th-leading scorer in Division I, shot 40.7% and made 94 of 279 three-pointers for 33.7%. On March 8, he scored a career-high 37 points in a victory over Buffalo. In addition, he scored 32 points against Western Michigan, 34 against DePaul, and 35 against Akron. He had a career-high eight conversions.

For me, Kansas was the ideal location,” Coit remarked. “Coach, have faith in my abilities to come in, play, make, and score. He was upfront and honest with me right away. Before the summer, he had me signed up months earlier. He was always open and honest about his expectations, and the same was true of his coaching staff. For me, it was an ideal circumstance.” Coach Bill Self of Kansas City indicated interest in having Coit impact the game in ways other than scoring, given his skill as a playmaker and scorer.
