Simone submitted a new skill for the Uneven Bars, a clear hip circle forward with 1.5 turns (540 degrees) to handstand.

If she’ll perform it successfully during any of the competition days at the Olympic Games, it’ll be named after her.

UB is the only apparatus where Simone doesn’t have a skill named, and it’d become her 6th eponymous skill!

The Technical Committee gave it a difficulty value of E (0.5). We never saw it performed so far, so it’s unclear if she is planning to perform it intentionally or if it has been submitted just in case she does it by mistake.

She used to submit a similar skill back in the day, which was a full turn, that is now named after an Australian gymnast. She often executed the skill by mistake even if unplanned, but never actually happened in competition.comically crawled at one point on Sunday at the Paris Olympics. She hopped on one leg. She even landed on her knees in a vault warmup.

It seemed she would do anything to take the weight off a lower left leg injury that she appeared to sustain at the end of a tumbling sequence in floor exercise practice.
