Huddersfield Town star Sorba Thomas is set to make a switch to FC Nantes this summer.

That’s according to L’Equipe, and their title says the forward will arrive at the Ligue 1 side on loan.

Within the report, it’s claimed Nantes have ‘reached an agreement’ with Huddersfield Town to sign the forward on a temporary deal, and the deal should go through soon.

The Wales international has two years left on his contract, and the report provides no further information, including whether Nantes have an option or obligation to make his stay permanent, as part of the loan move.                              Thomas starred for Huddersfield Town last season, scoring four goals and registering nine assists from 41 Championship games. He contributed just over 27% of the league goals scored [48] by the Terriers, who have been relegated to the League One.
The attacker, however, will be playing in the top division in France next season. The loan transfer will see him move away from the UK for the first time in his professional career.

Thomas joined Huddersfield Town in 2021, and managed seven goals and 31 assists from 125 matches for them.

WELSH INTERNATIONAL SORBA THOMAS SET TO JOIN NANTES FROM HUDDERSFIELD ON LOAN

According to a report by L’Équipe, Sorba Thomas (25) is set to join FC Nantes from Huddersfield Town on a loan deal.

Thomas has had an impressive climb up the English footballing pyramid since he was released from the West Ham academy in 2016. The forward who has played the majority of his career as a right-winger then joined non-league side Boreham Wood where he was eventually picked up by Huddersfield in 2021.

This was also the year that he became an international when he was selected by Wales by Rob Page for their World Cup qualifying game against Czechia. He even managed to come onto the pitch for the closing minutes of Wales’s 2022 World Cup opener against the United States.

Thomas was a frequent pick for Huddersfield last season scoring four and assisting nine in 41 appearances as the club succumbed to relegation from the Championship into League One. A move to Nantes will mean that after a long journey from non-league, Thomas will finally experience the top flight.

Blackpool striker Jordan Rhodes admits there was a moment of concern in one the recent pre-season outings.

The ex-Sheffield Wednesday and Blackburn Rovers striker was on the end of a tough challenge in the Seasiders’ 0-0 draw with Cadiz CF at the end of their pre-season camp in Spain, but came away with no long-term damage and was able to featuring in Tuesday’s behind-closed-doors friendly against West Brom – which ended in a 2-1 victory for Neil Critchley’s side.

Rhodes bagged 15 goals in Tangerine during the first half of last season while on loan from Huddersfield Town, but from the end of January onwards he was only able to feature four times due to two separate problems.
