Andy Murray details plans to play another sport after emotional tennis retirement

  • Andy Murray will retire from tennis after the Paris Olympics, and he’s got his eye on improving his skills in another sport after he’s hung up his tennis shoes‌After some quality time with wife Kim and their four children, he has resolved to renew his love affair with the golf clubs and bring his handicap down to scratch. His mother, Judy, appeared on Strictly 10 years ago, but hopefully the only dance floors on Murray’s horizon will be perfectly-manicured greens within range of his swing.

37, his farewell tour will reach its full stop in the Paris 2024 men’s doubles with Dan Evans as his accomplice.

‌He wanted to bow out on the big stage, and the camaraderie of Team GB at the Olympic Games – where he won back-to-back singles gold medals at London 2012 and in Rio – is the best that he can do after slipping towards the sunset amid perpetual injury setbacks.

‌We shall miss his laconic wit but, above all, we shall miss the magnificent tennis player who won Wimbledon twice in four years when the meter for his hapless Brit predecessors had started running back in 1936. But this is it – The End
