Angel Reese was rubbing elbows with NBA stars courtside in London.
The Chicago Sky rookie sensation was sitting in the front row — in between the Suns’ Kevin Durant and Warriors’ Steph Curry — at O2 Arena on Tuesday, cheering on the U.S. women’s national basketball team as it defeated Germany, 84-57, in their final exhibition game before stepping onto the Olympic stage.
Reese, donning a pink Balenciaga outfit before going into a black dress, and the NBA stars — who are competing for the men’s side in Paris — watched Team USA start strong with a 22-9 lead against the Germans — who are making their Olympic debut in the women’s basketball competition.
Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese stand at the forefront of a new generation in the WNBA. The two rookies are fresh off competing in their first All-Star Game out in Phoenix, Arizona — and they impressed, with Reese registering a double-double in just 18 minutes and Clark notching 10 assists (including one to Reese) in 26 minutes.
Clark and Reese were deserving All-Stars based on their play through the first half of their first professional campaigns. Their improving play has led many to reconsider their so-called “rivalry” and the ongoing Rookie of the Year race — with one former NBA player even positing that the two players could split the trophy come season’s end.
