Marketing service provider Infront has secured several major long-term broadcast agreements for the Wanda Diamond League, starting in 2025.

The agreements contain free-to-air deals, which have been signed in Latvia with LTV, Switzerland with SRG and Germany with ARD and ZDF (via SportA) who will show up to five live events per season as well as highlights.

Infront has also announced renewals. Arena (Balkans), Polsat (Poland), SportTV (Portugal), and Ziggo (the Netherlands) have extended their existing agreements for the series.

Additionally, Pragosport has obtained the rights for the Czech Republic and Slovakia, with MTVA continuing as the broadcaster in Hungary, and MatchTV securing the rights in Russia.

These partnerships mark the beginning of securing international rights to the Diamond League, with the sales process for other regions still underway.

Petr Stastny, CEO of Diamond League AG, stated: “These broadcast agreements symbolise the next stage in the evolution of our series, fitting perfectly with our vision for its growth. Our partnership with Infront reflects a shared commitment to elevate the profile of athletics globally, reach more fans and leverage all its commercial potential.”

Infront’s responsibilities with World Athletics extend beyond the Diamond League to also include managing global media rights partnerships for the World Athletics Continental Tour Gold and Indoor Tour Gold events.

The company has expressed that the free-to-air agreements are expected to provide extensive global coverage for the sport following the Paris Olympic Games, which is set to begin on 26 July.

Jens Mennigmann, Co-Head of Media at Infront, commented: “Securing this mix of both free-to-air and pay-tv coverage is a promising beginning to this phase of our relationship with the Diamond League.
