Anthony Martial, the former striker for Manchester United, has been due to a transfer to Tottenham Hotspur.

Spurs insider Paul O’Keefe claims that Tottenham has received an offer to sign the 28-year-old French international striker, but the North London team has not yet done so. After his deal with the Red Devils expired, Martial is presently a free agent. It will be intriguing to see where he ends up this summer. When the 28-year-old joined Manchester United, he was thought to be a top-tier prospect, but he was never able to reach his full potential. The Red Devils have chosen to cut ties with the French forward when his contract expires because he did not perform up to pace.

Tottenham may have benefited from the purchase of Martial since they need a good striker. The French international can play both as a winger and as a center-forward. He would have given Tottenham’s offense more inventiveness and goals. Though it would have been a low-risk investment for the North London club to sign him on a free transfer, they have chosen not to pursue a deal.

Seeing whether they can sign a goal striker this summer will be interesting to watch. Tottenham needs to make an acquisition of a dependable attacker before the transfer season ends because they haven’t done a good enough job of replacing Harry Kane. Son Heung-min, a South Korean international, was the North London club’s primary striker the previous season, although he performs best in a more creative capacity.
