Report:Caitlin Clark Gets One Step Nearer To Her Initial WNBA Suspension

Caitlin Clark, basketball prodigy, might have to sit down soon. Even though the Indiana Fever star’s WNBA career has only just begun, she has already alienated a number of individuals. No, we’re not talking about Diana Taurasi, but the refs on the floor.

Clark received a technical foul on July 14, 2024, while competing against the Minnesota Lynx. A video from the game showed the Fever star sprinting up the court after grabbing the ball in an attempt to capitalize on the possession. Unfortunately, Lynx player Cecilia Zandalasini met her as she was dribbling near half-court. She reached over and grasped Clark’s arm, trying to slow her down, trying to stop her pace.

Zandalasini’s attempt to dislodge her arm startled Clark, who inadvertently struck her in the face. It wasn’t the first time the Fever star received a technical foul for the play. This was not just her fourth technical foul of the season, but also her first in her professional career.

Clark is getting closer to the prospect of a suspension as her technicals pile up. Every WNBA player is subject to a one-game ban after seven technical fouls. She will continue to receive suspensions and fines if she receives technicals. Since it’s no secret that Clark has dealt with a lot of hostility on the court, opinions on the most recent technical call were mixed.

According to Caitlin Clark, she is a competitive player.

It is not lost on Caitlin Clark that she has received a few technical fouls. Earlier in the 2024 WNBA season, the Fever player expressed her disapproval of the referees’ call to media (via IndyStar) after receiving her third technical penalty against the Seattle Storm. “I’m a competitive person,” she declared. I’ve dedicated my entire career to it.” Although Clark admitted that she could handle things more skillfully, she will never lose her fiery personality. “I suppose there are instances where I could definitely channel it a bit better, but at the end of the day, basketball is all that matters,” the budding star remarked. Nothing will ever alter about that. I will always have that. I think I’m being taken advantage of.”
