Coco Gauff’s coach Brad Gilbert shared his two cents on the Daniil Medvedev double bounce controversy, explaining that simply introducing video reviews for such situations is the best thing to do. On Friday, Medvedev got broken back by Carlos Alcaraz when serving for the set at 5-3 after chair umpire Eva Asderaki said that the ball twice hit the Russian side of the court before he returned it into the play. Medvedev wasn’t happy with the call at all and he appeared to curse Asderaki’s way.Asderaki responded by coming down from her chair and going straight to the Wimbledon referee and supervisor – and after deliberation between the three parties – Medvedev wasn’t disqualified but only hit with unsportsmanlike conductAfter the incident with Asderaki, Medvedev still went on to win the first set via a tie-break but ultimately lost the match in four sets after Alcaraz staged a 6-7 Later in his presser, Medvedev revealed that he called Asderaki “a small cat” before also calling for the tennis authorities to introduce a technology that would allow umpires to review double bounces on the court. The thing is that I think it would be so much easier with a challenge system. The challenge system shows a bounce. So if there was a bounce, it would show it. Then if we use it, we would never have this situation. So I don’t know why don’t we use the challenge system for double bounce,
