GOODISON NEWS: Everton leading chase for Hellas Verona defender Jackson Tchatchoua ‘seem to be serious’ …

Everton ‘seem to be serious’ about their interest in Hellas Verona defender Jackson Tchatchoua and are working to find a deal that suits everyone.

That’s according to L’Arena, who report that the Italian side want €8m minimum for the defender, something it seems Everton are yet to offer.

They report on the various incomings and potential outgoings at Hellas Verona this summer, with Tchatchoua one of those who could be in the latter camp.

He’s been linked with a move away over the last few weeks, with Everton having reportedly expressed an interest in him and several reports insisting that they’re in the mix.

Indeed, earlier today it was claimed that they had made a bid for the defender via an intermediary to try and kick things off.
L’Arena now follow that up and say ‘there is always Everton’ when it comes to Tchatchoua. In other words, Everton are always in the background for him and looking into a move.

According to them, ‘confirmations’ on the player are arriving and the Blues ‘seem to be serious’ when it comes to the defender.

That’s not translated into an agreement as yet but there is work on to find a balance between supply and demand. In plain English, that means Everton and Hellas Verona are working to find a price that they both agree on.

The latter are currently sticking to an asking price of €8m, which they absolutely won’t fall below, but Everton have yet to pay. They are, though, ahead of West Ham, who have also been credited with an interest and remain ‘more out of the way’ at this moment in time.

Everton and Sean Dyche are looking to strengthen their options in attack this summer and have identified Napoli winger Jesper Lindstrom as their ‘next top target’. This is according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, who revealed that the Dane’s employers are open to entertaining offers.

For much of 2023/24, the options on either flank for the Toffees were bleak, especially on the right. Premier League veteran Ashley Young and Jack Harrison, who has recently extended his loan stint at Goodison Park, were both used as options.

But it’s still an area in dire need of strengthening this summer. Their points deduction aside, the Merseyside-based outfit enjoyed a quietly brilliant season under Dyche, 53, and will be looking to retain their best players and add some new faces ahead of an all-exciting 2024/25.
