July has been an incredible month for Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa of #DIY. They started the month by defeating A-Town Down Under on WWE SmackDown July 12, 2024. This victory over Austin Theory and Grayson Waller saw Gargano and Ciampa get their hands on the WWE Tag Team title.Their title win becomes even more special when you consider the fact that #DIY also won their NXT Tag Team championship in the same arena as their WWE Tag Team title. Today was yet another challenge for Gargano and Ciampa as they had to defend their title against A-Town Down Under. They won it on SmackDown last week and could’ve just as easily lost it on this week’s showing. But, #DIY reign supreme and have successfully completed their first title defense.Austin Theory and Grayson Waller started tonight’s match with a chip on their shoulders. Just last week, they had lost their championship belts to #DIY, and they seemed intent on rectifying the situation tonight. A-Team Down Under were ruthless to start the match and rained down punishment upon Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa.Gargano was sent flying through the barricades by Austin Theory, while Waller continued to beat down Ciampa on top of the turnbuckle. However, despite their positive momentum and hunger, A-Town Down Under weren’t quite on the same frequency. Things started to fall apart for them near the end of the match.
