Hull City Closing In On Double Transfer Swoop To Give Tim Walter Much-needed Boost…

Hull City are on the cusp of making two much-needed signings in what will be a major boost to Tim Walter’s pre-season plans ahead of the new season.

The Tigers, who expect to lose both Jaden Philogene and Jacob Greaves in the coming days to Ipswich Town, are expecting to complete permanent deals for a right-back and striker, to help bolster the German’s squad.

oth with Championship experience, the pair, it’s hoped, will be signed in time to join the flight out of Humberside Airport on Wednesday morning, with club bosses trying to push both through respective deals in time to make that early morning flight.

There is, however, a possibility either or both deals could roll on later into the week and see the duo link up with Walter’s squad in Turkey, at the home of the Turkish Football Federation in Riva.

City play their first friendly of the summer at Riva on Saturday with a second game to follow towards the end of the trip just before the Tigers fly back to England for their opening domestic fixture against Doncaster Rovers on July 23

Having seen the likes of Liam Delap, Fabio Carvalho and Tyler Morton all move on since their loan spells ended at the conclusion of the Championship campaign, the Tigers have also lost Ozan Tufan and goalkeeper Ryan Allsop with much of last season’s squad moved on, leaving Walter’s squad particularly thin on the ground, especially in the top half of the pitch, something City are working hard to rectify.

It’s expected the Tigers will bring in as many as eight or nine new arrivals before the transfer window closes on August 31, with the club looking to use the loan market to their advantage, just as they have done previously.

As the club looks to conclude their incoming deals, there’s also an expectation that Ryan Longman, Jason Lokilo and Ryan Giles could all move on, possibly before that trip to Istanbul.
