Sad News : Alabama Football QB Announced Suddely due……

Carmel (Calif.) offensive tackle Jackson Lloyd announced his commitment to Alabama on Tuesday.

The Tide get one of the premier players in California who ranks as the top offensive lineman in the state.

WHAT JACKSON LLOYD SAYS ABOUT ALABAMA

“Being at Carmel and getting an offer from Alabama and their history, it was crazy,” said Lloyd. “I’ve always thought of Alabama but I never actually thought of me going there. Just seeing that I have an opportunity now is crazy. And with coach DeBoer making me a priority at two different schools, that is super cool.”

“I like coach Kap (Chris Kapilovic) a lot. And then the rest of the coaching staff, like Courtney Morgan and coach (Kalen) DeBoer, just all of them, we have a super good relationship.”

“What stood out most at Alabama was their winning culture and doing everything to be the best.”

“The facilities were incredible, they have seemingly thought of everything. You can definitely tell that Alabama loves their football program and invest heavily into them.”

“Tuscaloosa was very cool and I liked how everything was close by.”

WHO ELSE WAS IN THE MIX

Lloyd named a top six just 10 days ago of Alabama, Ohio State, Oregon, Stanford, Tennessee and USC. But this had seemingly been a three-team race for him, since he’d only set officials to Ohio State, Alabama and USC.

The first visit took him to Ohio State and he had scheduled a trip to USC for next weekend, but the visit to Tuscaloosa sealed the deal for him with Alabama.

WHERE JACKSON LLOYD RANKS AS A RECRUIT

Lloyd is a four-star on 247Sports, the No. 146 overall player, the No. 16 offensive tackle nationally and the No. 13 prospect in California. Per the industry-generated 247Sports Composite Rankings, Lloyd is the No. 187 overall player, the No. 19 offensive tackle in the country and the No. 17 recruit in California in 2025.

HOW JACKSON LLOYD FITS WITH ALABAMA

Lloyd is Alabama’s offensive line commit in the 2025 class — and second offensive tackle. As it currently stands, Lloyd is the highest-rated offensive line commit for the Tide and the only one in the Top247. Lloyd is Alabama’s fourth California commit in the class, too; the Crimson Tide are clearing flexing their West Coast connections and general manager Courtney Morgan is from South California.

WHAT WE THINK ABOUT JACKSON LLOYD

Three sport athlete (hoops/baseball) in addition to football. Two-time all-league in basketball, averaged 15.0 points, 8.4 rebounds and 1.7 blocks a game as a junior and shows the ability to get up and throw it down. Super long tackle with an 80+ wing span and the kind of frame colleges drool over. Plays predominately left tackle but will occasionally line up on the right side and has a few snaps at DT as well. The length jumps out, moves well and is a physical player. Gets to the second level and routinely takes LBs/DBs off the screen and puts guys on their back. Is able to just manhandle kids at the HS level. Still plays high at times and can continue to improve his short area quickness but possess all the physical tools you want to see. Has a nice mean streak to him and plays through the whistle. Has never had a true off-season strength program due to baseball in the Spring and should make a big jump in strength once he gets locked in to a college strength program. Projects as a true tackle with the ability to play for anyone at the next level. — Greg Biggins, national recruiting analyst
