On night four of the 2024 U.S. Olympic trials, Lucas Oil Stadium saw a two-sport crossover as the Indiana Fever attended. The Fever, Indianapolis’ WNBA club, were honored prior to the start of the finals session as part of USA Swimming’s Women in Sports night. USA Swimming also sponsored a sunglasses and koozie (a sort of cup insulator) freebie for the first 5,000 people into the stadium Tuesday night, thanks to the Fever and Indiana Pacers.

During the Olympic trials, which run from June 15 to 23, the Fever play two home games. They overcame the Chicago Sky 91-83 on Sunday and will take on the Washington Mystics on Wednesday night. Clark’s presence on the Fever has made them a major draw in Indianapolis this season. They are averaging 16,683 people per game at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, the most for a WNBA club this season. The Fever’s most recent match versus the Sky had an average of 2.25 million viewers on CBS, the highest number for a WNBA game in 23 years.

The whole Fever squad was present, including Caitlin Clark, the No. 1 overall choice in the 2024 WNBA draft and one of America’s most popular athletes right now, and Aliyah Boston, the 2023 WNBA No. 1 pick and reigning WNBA rookie of the year. Other Fever players in

attendance were Grace Berger, Nalyssa Smith, Erica Wheeler, Victoria Saxton, Kristy Wallace, Temi Fagbenle, Katie Lou Samuelson, Lexie Hull, Kelsey Mitchell, and Celeste Taylor. Each squad member’s name was spoken over the loudspeaker, including head coach Christie Sides.
