A number of Indiana’s 2026 recruiting targets scored highly in the most recent update to 247Sports’ player ratings.

The national 247Sports.com team updated the 2026 basketball player rankings today, and the Indiana Hoosiers are recruiting many of them.In today’s recruiting landscape, rising juniors do not get as much attention as they used to. However, most college programs are beginning to focus on the class more in recent months.

Tyran Stokes (No. 1) has long been in contact with Indiana. He spent time in Louisville when he was younger, and that’s where the Indiana connection developed Of course, that will be an uphill fight for the Prolific Prep (Calif.) wing. He moved up from the second spot to the first position. Stokes combines strength, explosiveness, and skill and is worthy of the top position in the class.

The three recruits Indiana has recruited the longest on the list are Taylen Kinney (No. 26), Jonathan Sanderson (No. 52), and Jayden Johnson (No. 57). Stokes is one more person who fits in that category. While Sanderson and Johnson maintained their positions from the previous rankings, Kinney rose 30 points.
Indiana recently got in touch with Jordan Smith, who is ranked eighth. The strong-built shooting guard from the illustrious Paul VI in the DMV is a superb athlete. Every time Smith on the court, his athleticism and competitiveness are evident. While competing for Team Takeover at the 17U level in the Nike EYBL, the 2026 potential has shown great promise.

The lone Indiana native, Steven Reynolds III, comes in at No. 67. He participated in the USA Basketball U17 tryouts over the weekend but did not make the first cut. Reynolds is a South Bend native who has made a few trips to Bloomington. Notre Dame and Purdue are recruiting him the hardest right now.
