For the Notre Dame football team, there will always be some anxiety over Deuce Knight, right up until the moment he signs his National Letter of Intent. However, a new update about the star quarterback seems to indicate that the Irish are still holding strong, even as the pursuit for Knight heats up.

Deuce Knight, currently attending the Elite 3 Series in Nashville, Tennessee, took a break from his preparations to share some insights with On3’s Chad Simmons. In an exclusive interview, the conversation naturally gravitated toward the schools vying for the dual-threat quarterback and Notre Dame’s standing among them.

He says Ole Miss is the biggest comp for the Fighting Irish,” Simmons reported. “He goes to ND after the Elite Series and then his OV on June 14. ‘Bama and Ole Miss are in regular contact. Talking to Colorado some too, but he went on low record that Ole Miss is the school behind ND, but he is still strong with the Irish”

That the Rebels are continuing to pursue Knight is hardly a surprise. They emerged as one of the leading candidates should he decide that the Notre Dame football program isn’t the place for him. However, he’s always contended that while he’s talking to other schools, he’s not wavering one bit in his commitment.
