Alabama Football landed its first commitment in the 2026 recruiting class on Saturday with Jamarrion Gordon picking the Tide and it’s now landed its second commitment. The Crimson Tide have landed a commitment from Dorian Barney a four-star recruit from Georgia as they start to build out their 2026 recruiting class. Barney is ranked as the 41st-ranked player in the country and the third-ranked cornerback in the country. The Tide landed Barney over Georgia and South Carolina among several other schools.

The Alabama Football team goes from having no commitments in the 2026 recruiting class to holding the fifth-ranked class. New defensive backs coach Maurice Linguist is off to a hot start on the recruiting trail landing his second commitment in two days and is the only position coach with any commitments for 2026.

Playing a role in landing Dorian Barney was fellow 2026 recruit Jamarrion Gordon who started to push fojr Barney after committing to Alabama.

The Tide made up a ton of ground in this recruitment late after offering Barney a scholarship in March, and unseating the favorite in Georgia right before Barney’s commitment. The Tide have a long way until this 2026 class signs to hold off potential suitors but, in Barney, they’re getting possibly the Nation’s best cornerback as Barney is already the ideal size for a cornerback heading into his Junior season.
