Carlos Sainz has conceded he is “confused” by and “battles” to comprehend the dynamic cycle with regards to Equation 1 punishments.

Sainz was hit with a five-second assent by the stewards after the Miami Great Prix for contact with McLaren’s Oscar Piastri that broke the Australian’s front-wing, and made him drop out of the focuses subsequent to pitting for fixes.

The punishment dropped Sainz from fourth making a course for fifth spot, advancing Sergio Perez up one spot, yet the Ferrari driver feels that the results of the contact had an excessive load on the punishment he got.
