For an extended period, the Eagles have been considered the perfect destination for fourth-year quarterback Justin Fields.

That was confirmed by reports that the Eagles spoke with the Bears regarding Fields prior to getting Kenny Pickett on Friday from the Steelers. Dan Graziano discussed his research on Sportscenter on ESPN.

“The Eagles, from what I understand talking to sources around the league, were one of the teams that had talked to the Bears about Justin Fields, but obviously could not get to the point where they agreed on a price, so they traded for Pickett,” Graziano stated.

The Eagles acquired Pickett and a 2024 draft pick on Friday.

According to a number of sources, the Bears have received calls on Fields but haven’t necessarily been hawking him. However, this raises a few queries. At what price did the Bears turn down the Eagles’ offer? And did the Bears want to keep Fields or was price the driving force for their decision to decline?

It appears that the Bears intend to trade Fields and select Caleb Williams of USC with the first overall pick in the NFL draft. Given that the Bears are accepting trade requests regarding him, it has shown to be likely.
