Raiders signing Maxx Crosby’s response Wilkins and Minshew…

LAS VEGAS (AP) – In an attempt to mimic his new coach, Antonio Pierce, defensive tackle Christian Wilkins began his first press conference with the Las Vegas Raiders on Thursday.

“Raiderrrsss!” The same joyous way Pierce had after every win since taking over as coach in the midst of the previous campaign, Wilkins cried out before letting the first question be posed.

This week, Wilkins and quarterback Gardner Minshew reached an agreement on a four-year, $110 million contract and a two-year, $25 million contract, respectively. As the Raiders get ready for their first offseason under Pierce, both players expressed how excited they are about joining the team.

The 6-foot-4, 310-pound lineman accepted his surroundings in Sin City while sporting a three-piece black suit with white stripes designed like windowpanes, lined with playing cards inside.

“I´ve had this thing for a little while but no better time than now to bring it out,” Wilkins stated. “Vegas is undoubtedly a fantastic city and location. There’s enough to be enthusiastic about. The things the club accomplished last year toward the end and under Coach Pierce’s leadership, as well as his enthusiasm. There are numerous wonderful colleagues and numerous reasons to get enthusiastic about.”

Wilkins played for Miami for his first five seasons. In 2023, he recorded a career-high nine sacks. He’s participated in 81 games overall and scored 20 goals.
