Bills Commit $24 Million to a “Versatile” Wide Receiver with 4.31 Speed…

It looks like the Buffalo Bills may have found their new No. 2 receiver after losing Gabe Davis to free agency.

On March 14, ESPN revealed that the Bills are adding former Washington Commanders wide receiver Curtis Samuel to their roster for a $24 million, three-year contract. The swift Samuel entered the league in 2017 and has since established himself as a “versatile” threat, with 317 receptions for 4,098 yards and 121 carries for 29 scores.

In Buffalo, where the Bills have already lost their second-most productive receiver and are making an attempt to acquire players who can gain yards after the catch, Samuel has the opportunity to play a significant role.

Following his 4.31 40-yard sprint in 2017, Ohio State product Samuel attracted some attention and was selected by the Carolina Panthers in the second round of the draft.

Although he has had a successful NFL career, injuries have also limited him. In his rookie season, Samuel was limited to five games due to a sports hernia; in 2021, he was also limited to five games due to injury.
