The Bengals have signed $ 3.25 million with TE Mike Gesicki to a one-year contract…

According to Adam Schefter, tight end Mike Gesicki joined the Cincinnati Bengals on a one-year contract worth up to $3.25 million on Tuesday, adding another notch to the position. After his one and only season with the New England Patriots, something occurs.

The door keeps turning in place. After CJ Uzomah left in free agency after the 2021 Super Bowl season, the Bengals have adopted a plug-and-play strategy at the tight end position. Hayden Hurst, who left after his one-year contract expired, took his position.

Halfway through the season, Hurst was replaced by Irv Smith Jr., who was then replaced by Tanner Hudson. Generally, this strategy has proven effective. Joe Burrow and the Bengals offense were utilized by Uzomah and Hurst to earn compensation, which they accomplished (albeit they were both dismissed this offseason).

Although the Bengals had hoped, Smith did not operate in the same manner. Although Hudson, a free agent, was the team’s top receiving threat from the position last season, he is probably not the team’s best option going forward.

The Bengals and Gesicki intend to leverage each other to win big by signing Gesicki to a one-year contract. Like Uzomah and Hurst, Gesicki, who occasionally plays more wide receiver than tight end, hopes to use Burrow to relaunch his career and earn a paycheck.

In an attempt to win a Super Bowl, the Bengals intend to make use of tight end Gesicki’s receiving prowess.

Earlier in the summer, the Bengals re-signed Drew Sample to serve as the starting in-line tight end. To minimize the blow of losing seasoned slot receiver Tyler Boyd this summer, I anticipate they’ll team Gesicki with second-year receiver Charlie Jones.

What are your thoughts on the signing, then?
