Rich Scangarello’s appointment by the team is imminent, per Jeremy Fowler of ESPN in an X post dated February 19Scangarello has been a coach since 1998 and even worked as an offensive quality control coach for the Raiders in 2009. He has played for numerous organizations and most recently served as the offensive coordinator for the Denver Broncos in 2019.Scangarello most recently served as Kentucky’s offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach before being let go before the season could be completed. Although he hasn’t been able to maintain success as a playcaller, he has much experience mentoring quarterbacks. The coach of the quarterback will be crucial because the Raiders may select a young quarterback early in the 2024 NFL Draft.Scangarello makes sense for the team because he has worked with quarterbacks in both the NFL and college Notably, Rich Scangarello has long been a member of the QB Collective, an association of active and retired coaches that aids in the development of young athletes.
