NASHVILLE — The Tennessee Volunteer is reportedly returning home to the Tennessee Titansand#039; new quarterback coach. No, it’s not Vols legend Peyton Manning who publicly praised the Titansand#039; the hiring of head coach Brian Callahan. But Bo Hardegree, who grew up in Jackson and also played for the Vols, is the Titansand#039; new employee Heand#039;on is expected to continue coaching Will Levis, the supposed quarterback of the future. The Hardegree news was first reported by NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
Hardegree was the interim offensive coordinator for the Las Vegas Raiders in 2023 after head coach Josh McDaniels was fired. The Raiders averaged 23 points in nine games and won five of those games with starting quarterback Aidan O’Connell. Hardegree, 39, joined the NFL in 2014 as the offensive quality control coach in Denver, where he worked with Callahan. He then served as an offensive assistant for the Bears in 2015 before being hired as the Dolphins’ running backs coach in 2016. He worked with the Jets in 2019 and 2020, coaching alongside Dennard Wilson, who is now the Titans’ defensive coordinator.

According to a report from Draft Network’s Justin Melo, the Titans have declined multiple interview requests from coach Justin Outten. The Titans hired Outten last season, and despite an offensive line that the Pro Football Network rated as the worst in the league, Derrick Henry rushed for more than 1,000 yards and made the Pro Bowl.
