Sheffield United’s relegation rivals Luton Town have boosted their survival bids by signing their first Japan international. Daiki Hashioka has joined the Hatters from Belgian side Sint-Truide for an undisclosed fee believed to be around €2m.

The 24-year-old was previously claimed as a target for Leeds United but moved to the Premier League on a work visa and international permit.
