Although Kane Wommack, the former head coach of South Alabama, has not yet been named defensive coordinator at Alabama, he did say a tearful farewell to his old team and hometown on Wednesday.

Additionally, Wommack updated his bio on Twitter and X to say “Defensive Coordinator / Linebackers @ Alabama.” He announced his official resignation from South Alabama on January 16 and said he was going to Tuscaloosa to start recruiting. In the past few days, he has been observed out and about with head coach Kalen DeBoer.
