Craig Breslow calls Alex Cora of the Red Sox “one of the best managers” in MLB.

Chief Baseball Officer Craig Breslow stated that he and Alex Cora are focused on the 2024 campaign as Cora approaches the last year of his contract with the Red Sox. Breslow stated on Thursday on MassLive’s Fenway Rundown podcast, “As it relates to his contract, we have conversations and I think both he and I know that those conversations take place between the two of us and at the appropriate time.” However, I believe that both of us are content with the partnership and that we both place a high value on the work that needs to be done in order to have the best possible 2024 season. After hiring Cora in October, Breslow claimed that their bond is strengthening and growing. In 2006, the former pitcher and infielder shared a brief stint together in Boston.

According to Breslow, “I think a very quickly developed layer of trust and respect” is the foundation of the connection. Regarding expectations and accountability, I believe that I have been as honest with him as I possible can be, and he has been as honest with me. And knowing what he may anticipate from me benefits us both.

According to Breslow, they talk about how they see particular players and their roles. Breslow stated, “I think the conversations have been really, really productive.” “A discussion that occurs in June or July will have a different emotional tone than one that occurs in December or January. I believe there is an understanding there since we have both played, even if it was only briefly.

When MassLive texted Cora about the report at the time, he declined to respond. He had stated that improving the team was his current priority during the winter meetings in December. Breslow stated, “I believe that Alex is one of the best managers in the game. I feel very comfortable and confident saying that.” The fact that he is the Boston Red Sox manager is truly fortunate for us. Here, he has proven that he is capable of winning at the greatest level. Beyond that, those talks will happen between Alex and me, but the most crucial thing, in my opinion, is that we have built this degree of open communication, openness, and trust so that we can have very tough talks with one another.
