The postgame excitement hasn’t subsided yet after the Philadelphia Eagles’ loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Despite the Eagles’ impressive to tart regular season, many fans are still discussing their abrupt decline from grace. Even yet, Dawn Staley, a Philadelphia fan, is still proud of her beloved team. Even when coaching from the sidelines, South Carolina women’s basketball head coach has been known to don the uniform of her favorite team. But after Monday’s game between South Carolina and the NFL legend Warren Sapp, Staley was called out on X (Twitter). “Hey coach, stay off the courtside and put your fandom away. #BucsNation,” Sapp said alongside a photo of Staley decked up in green. Of course not. Forever, birds! Staley answered.
Sapp has spent the majority of his career playing for the Bucs, and the organization even retired his jersey, so it makes logical that he would be feeling particularly high after the game. Sapp was able to win both the Defensive Player of the Year Award and a Super Bowl with Tampa Bay. He has made seven appearances for the Bucs in Pro Bowl selections. Regarding Staley, her preferred NFL team might not have advanced past the Wild Card round, but at least her South Carolina club has the top spot in women’s collegiate basketball right now. The Gamecocks have a 4-0 SEC Conference record and are currently 16-0 overall. No number of NFL greats can convince Dawn Staley otherwise; she will always be vocal in her support for the Eagles, during the good times and the bad.
