NEWS: Doug King’s remarks on Saturday on obnoxious banners

Doug King, the owner and executive chairman of Coventry City, made the following statement today in reference to the disrespectful banners that were flown on Saturday before our matchup with Leicester City:

In an effort to find the people responsible for the deplorable banners that were hung along the M69 on Saturday, Coventry City and WestMidlands Police are still working together. The Club will keep actively assisting the Police with their inquiries. This has no place in football or in any other aspect of society. Any individual or individuals found to have participated in this will be barred from our club indefinitely. Leicester City’s late owner and his family have done, and still do, an incredible job of generously and passionately supporting their City and Club.

Sports Illustrated reports that Sunderland is interested in loaning out Luke Thomas, a left-back for Leicester City, till the end of the 2023–24 campaign.

The 22-year-old, who came up from the Championship to provide the Blades competition at left wing-back, spent the first half of the season on loan at Premier League side Sheffield United.

Thomas’ loan agreement was terminated early after just 11 top flight games because Chris Wilder hasn’t used him much since taking PaulHeckingbottom’s position in the Bramall Lane dugout and because he wanted to free up a loan spot in his squad.

But sometimes, since the Black Cats are among several clubs vying for a postseason spot, the team has to be strengthened by proven Championship quality. This is particularly true during the current January transfer window.
