Jerry Jones appeared to shade NFL refs over Micah Parsons limitations

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones appeared to protest the limited number of penalties the NFL referees have given Edell running back Micah Parsons over the past two months. Padres is a force to get into the backfield, record sacks and disrupt opposing offenses. However, Parsons has not been punished for the attack since October. While Jones doesn’t believe the refs are intentionally trying to “limit” their All-Pro running back, he does believe Parsons is “limited” in getting more sacks in the Cowboys’ defense. “There’s no question that Micah [Priests] has limitations that, if loosened, would result in a quarterback sack,” Jones said Tuesday on 105.3 The Fan. ” Parsons currently has 13 sacks (tied for seven in the league), 27 solo tackles and one forced fumble this season. However, Jones believes Parsons’ impact on the ’23 campaign could have been much greater if referees’ discretion over penalty awards had not been limited. “They don’t call a hold in a specific holding area … usually if they don’t think the player would get to the quarterback first,” Jones said. “… It doesn’t work with Parsons because he ends up there almost all the time. Anything that only limits him should be blocked.” Where Jones believes Parsons can barely get off the ropes on penalties, the Cowboys defense was a different story. After the Cowboys’ 22-20 loss to the Miami Dolphins in Week 16, Parsons said the things the referees penalized Dallas for were “crazy.” The Cowboys (10-5) have already secured a playoff spot, but are one game behind the Philadelphia Eagles (11-4) for first place in the NFC East. Dallas looks to bounce back in Week 17 when it hosts the Detroit Lions (11-4) on Saturday.
