The “little angel”, named by police as Dylan Walker from Dodsworth Street, Mexborough, was a passenger in a Mazda MX-5 when it was involved in a collision with an Iveco-Ford lorry on Melton Mill Lane, near Mexborough.

The incident happened at around 11.35am on Monday, December

A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: “A white Mazda MX-5 was travelling from Mexborough towards High Melton when it collided with an Iveco-Ford lorry on Melton Mill Lane.

“The four-year-old boy was travelling in the car and sustained fatal inju

“The 51-year-old driver of the car suffered slight injuries and the 49-year-old man, driving the lorry was not reported to have been hurt.Both men are from Doncaster.”

Scores of tributes have been posted on social network site facebook where a memorial page RIP Dylan Walker has been set up and “liked” by 1,773 people

Another comment called for action over the site of the accident.

It read: “It’s about time someone did something about that road.

“I’ve lived here since April and that’s at least four accidents since then \_ too many.

“Cars travel way too fast down that road too.”

Anyone who may have witnessed the collision is asked to contact South Yorkshire Police by dialling 101, quoting incident number 358 of December 23.
