The Dyldam Parramatta Eels have today announced the re-signing of 2016 Ken Thornett Medallist Manu Ma’u until the end of the 2019 season.
Ma’u joined the Eels in 2013 and debuted for the Club in Round 1, 2014 becoming Eels player number 758. He has played 57 NRL games and achieved representative honours in 2016 with New Zealand.
Head Coach Brad Arthur said that the signing of Ma’u ensures that the dynamic back rower will be a key part of the Eels team for another three seasons.
“Manu has been an essential player for our Club ever since he debuted for us in 2014. His energy and commitment is outstanding and he continues to be one of our strongest contributors each week,” Arthur said.
“It was important for our club that Manu remains with us in the long term and I am very pleased that we have been able to achieve this not only with him but with a number of our key players over the past few weeks.”
Ma’u joins Corey Norman, Danny Wicks, Kenny Edwards, Isaac De Gois and Brad Takairangi as recent re-signings for the Eels. This also follows the announcements of Nathan Brown, George Jennings and Siosaia Vave as new signings for the Eels in 2017.
