The incident occurred at about 8am on Tuesday on the eastbound carriageway between Broughton and the Posthouse roundabout.

 

North Wales Fire and Rescue Service said it sent two fire engines to the incident at 8am.

 

The fire, which resulted from a road traffic collision, caused 100 per cent damage to the vehicle involved.

Firefighters used two hose reels jets and breathing apparatus to extinguish the blaze. There were no reports of any injuries resulting from the incident.

The incident saw the road closed for around 45 minutes – with some motorists taking to social media to state they were stuck in traffic for around 90 minutes.

There was a lane closure in place until 10.35am – with residual congestion continuing until around midday following the incident.
