Cleveland browns fansfans in tears due to…

Someday things will be different. At least that’s what any of us hope for as followers of the Cleveland Browns. This isn’t to say that Browns fans are a miserable or violently angry bunch overall, although there are some fans who would fit into those two categories for sure. Those fans aside, I think most Cleveland Browns fans have landed at the end of the five stages of grief by this point, but how did we get there?

These are the five stages of Browns grief

Denial has been a huge part of the experience for any Browns fan who mistakenly believed that a league known for parity would deliver us from the depths of horrendous teams. Denial was thinking that maybe Pat Shurmur wasn’t as bad of a head coach selection as he seemed to be from the get go. Denial was thinking maybe Charlie Frye just needed more time to develop. Denial is refusing to believe that maybe even a big, brash NFL personality like Mike Holmgren didn’t know what he was doing.

Anger is Browns fans demanding another coach get fired whether it’s Butch Davis, Romeo Crennel, Eric Mangini, or Pat Shurmur. Anger is the Twitter reaction toward players — even great players — when the team loses on a Sunday. Remember when Josh Cribbs lashed back at the hate of Browns fans who tweeted at him after he fumbled a ball on December 23, 2012 in a loss to the Denver Broncos. “See all the negativity on twitter after I gave my life to this …. . So 2 all u who are against me …. all y’all! I’m still gonna do me!
